I like how Microsoft are moving in the cloud but there are times when you think “…what were you fucking thinking….” when you see their attempt at IE – so tacky and is this really 2010.

  2. Setting up DNS for Office365 on Fasthosts

September 19, 2014 by The Man

If you have ever set up Office 365 but wanted to keep control of your DNS you’ll know you get a great checking from Microsoft as to what you need to add. However the information on the SRV record isn’t quite right. It should look like this, hope it helps somebody.

  4. Microsoft Video Verification – another poorly designed “feature”

November 11, 2013 by The Man

I sometimes despair of Microsoft, why would I need to verify my account (the same account I logged in with) when I played a video I made on my computer ?

Oddly the video still played despite me pressing cancel, so what was the point !!!

Windows 8.1 you really do make me wonder what is going on at Microsoft.

    1. How much space is wasted

    2. How much is downloading and how much has been downloaded so far

    3. Any idea how long this will all take and what step we are on

  6. Clean up GB of space by moving c:windowsinstaller

September 9, 2013 by The Man

You need to move c:windowsinstaller first so move to the d: drive or any other drive with space. You cannot symlink to an existing folder so you need to move it first

Then open a command prompt with admin privileges and cd to c:windows

    Type mklink /d Installer d:Installer

You should now have a symlink folder where Windows will look for files linked to the d drive and hopefully a few GB of free space.
